While surfing the Internet
I came across a photo titled
'Collegians who collect pieces of broken
glass around Chunzi, Mt. Baekdo'.
인터넷을 써핑하면서 '백두산 천지 주변의
유리조각을 줍는 대학생'이라는
제하의 사진을 보았다.
This picture could easily be ignored by many or
could be viewed as a typical public service
activity done by college students.
누구나 쉽게 넘길 수 있는 사진 일수도 있고
그냥 여늬 대학생들의 봉사 활동으로
쉽게 생각할 수 있으나
However, the word, 'Chunzi, Mt. Baekdu'
in the caption caught my attention.
'백두산 천지'라는 내용이 눈길을 끌게 하여
눈여겨보게 되었다.
Who in the world would climb to Chunzi without
any concern for heaven and earth,
opening bottles of soju to drink and
throwing them away on our sacred mountain?
그 이유는 도대체 누가
이 천지까지 올라와 천지를 모르고
소주병을 까먹고(?) 무슨 원수가 졌다고
민족의 성산인 백두산에 던져 깼는지...
It appears there are some who are incapable
of the difference between right and wrong.
이유는 알 수 없으나
분명 도덕시간에 열일을 제치고
잠을 잔 탓이 아니겠는가?
It goes without saying that the students
who picked up the fragments of
glass should be praised.
당연히 유리 조각을 줍는 대학생은
칭찬을 받아야 마땅한 일이고
We should take another look at our moral compass.
우리들은 준법정신에 대하여
가슴에 손을 얹을 필요가 있다.
It is sad that people suffer or get hurt
because of the thoughtless behavior of others.
세상을 살아가면서...
나 때문에 고통을 당하고 피해를 보는
사람이 생겨난다는 것은 참으로 큰
쓰라린 애통이 아닐 수 없다.
Such behavior most likely stems from selfishness.
이것은 자신 밖에 모르는 사람들의
부산물이 아니겠는가?
We should remember the axiom -
you receive only as much as you give.
결국, 피해를 주면
준만큼 고스란히 돌려받게 된다는
자연 우주 법칙을 기억해야 하지 않겠는가?
