A husband a wife argued in front of their son,
a 6th grader and their cute daughter,
a 4th grader in elementary school.
It was the first argument since being married.
초등학교 6학년생 아들과
4학년생 예쁜 딸은 둔 부부가
결혼 후 처음으로 아이들 보는 앞에서
언성을 높여가며 싸움을 하게 되었습니다.
The couple wanted their children to enjoy life.
However, from that time they quarreled incessantly.
못내 마음에 걸린 이들은
아이들에게 이해를 시키고 했지만
거듭되는 부부싸움은 더 이상
어떤 이해도 시킬 수 없을 듯 보였습니다.
They worried about their children
who might be upset with their quarrels.
부부는 각자 마음속으로
아이들이 얼마나 큰 상처를 입었을까
걱정을 하며 하루를 보내었습니다.
When the couple watched TV in silence,
their daughter ran into the house after school,
saying, "Mom! Dad! Please look at this."
그러던 어느 날,..
여느 때처럼 부부가 무거운 분위기 속에서
조용히 텔레비전을 보고 있는데
학교에 다녀온 딸아이가 헐레벌떡 뛰어오며
"엄마, 아빠 이것 좀 보세요"라며
상기된 얼굴로 부부를 한 자리에 모았습니다.

watching what their daughter was writing
in her notebook. She wrote ' 2 + 2 = 4 '.
서먹한 분위기로 마주 앉게 된 부부는
가방에서 노트를 꺼내들고 뭔가를 적는
딸아이를 조용히 쳐다봤습니다.
아이가 노트에 쓴 것은 ' 2 + 2 = 4 '
The couple wondered what she meant.
They stared at their daughter in silence.
무슨 뜻인지 몰라 갸우뚱하던 부부는
딸아이를 조용히 쳐다봤습니다.
Then they could not help but reconcile each other,
after hearing her words.
그 때 딸아이의 입에서 나온 말은
두 부부를 화해할 수밖에 없게 만들었습니다.
"Mom, Dad, they say e-hai plus e-hai
produce sarang."
"아빠, 엄마. 이해하고 이해하면 사랑이 된대요" |
