A father and a son visited a shoe store
to buy the son a pair of shoes.
There was a salesman who was sitting on a chair,
crossing his legs and chewing gum,
acting impolite when they entered the store.
어느 부자(父子)가 아들의 신발을 사러
신발가게에 갔습니다.
가게로 들어서자, 그 곳엔
다리를 꼬고 껌을 짝짝 씹으며
의자에 불량하게 앉아있는 직원이 있었습니다.
The salesman had a neglectful attitude like
I don't care if you buy anything',
when the son chose a pair, and said.
"If you like them, I will give you a 5,000 won discount."
직원은 아들이 맘에 드는 신발을 고르자
"그게 좋으시면 5000원 깎아 드리겠습니다!"
라며 아무거나 골라라 라는 식으로 말했습니다.
"Son, why don't we visit another store?"
The father led his son to another shoe store.
"아들아 우리 다른 가게로 가자꾸나."
아버지는 아들을 데리고 다른 가게로 갔습니다.
When they went into another store,
there was a kind salesman, greeting them with 'welcome!"
and a pair of shoes similar to the pair that
the son chose from the previous store.
다른 가게에 들어서자,
"어서 오세요!" 라며 친절하게 맞아주는 직원과
방금 전 아들이 골랐던 신발과 흡사한 신발이 있었습니다.
"Those look good on you.
Do you like these? If you want,
I will bring the appropriate one for your foot size."
"고객님께 어울리네요! 그 신발로 하실 건가요?
원하시면 맞는 사이즈를 가지고 오겠습니다."
The father bought new shoes at the second store
and had his son to wear them.
아버지는 새로 산 신발을 아들에게
신긴 후, 가게를 나왔습니다.
When they went out of the store, the son asked his father.
가게를 나선 뒤 아들은 아버지께 물었습니다.
"Dad, why did you buy shoes at the second store?
If you bought at the first store,
you would have saved 5,000 won."
"아버지, 왜 두 번째 가게에서 신발을 사셨나요?
첫 번째 가게에서 샀으면 5000원이나
더 싸게 살 수 있었는데요..."
"Son, the first store treated us unkindly,
and I would rather pay 5,000 won more for good service.
Don't you agree?
"아들아. 첫 번째 가게에서는
5000원을 깎아준다고 하였지만,
5000원 보다 더 큰 불친절을 우리에게 주었지.
그러나 두 번째 가게에서는
5000원을 깎아주지 않은 대신에
5000원 보다 더 큰 친절을 우리에게 주지 않았니?" |
