Mother sparrow started on her trip to console her
broken-hearted daughter sparrow.
어미 참새는 실연당한 딸 참새를 위로하기 위해
여행을 나섰습니다.
Their first destination was a mountain top.
They reached a at the base of the mountain
along the stream.
첫 번째로 간 곳은 산봉우리였습니다.
거기서부터 모녀는 물줄기를 따라 내려와서
산 밑의 웅덩이에 이르렀습니다.
The mother sparrow picked a leaf and threw
it to the pond, saying, "What would happen to
the leaf, if the stream of water stopped here?
The leaf would know nothing without the pond."
물웅덩이에 풀잎하나를 따 던지면서
어미 참새가 말했습니다.
“물줄기가 여기에 머문다면 풀잎은
어떻게 될까? 아마 물웅덩이 밖에 모를 거야.“
The stream of water flew into the river, carrying
the leaf. The mother sparrow, flying above the river,
said to her daughter. "If the stream of water from
the mountain stays here, the leaf would know nothing
beyond the river, would it?"
잎을 띄운 물줄기가 흘러서 강으로 들어섰습니다.
강 위를 날던 어미 참새가
딸 참새에게 말했습니다.
“산에서 내려온 그 물줄기가 만일
여기에 머물고 만다면 강 밖에 모르겠지?“
The stream with the leaf finally arrived at the sea.
The mother sparrow and her daughter arrived at the sea.
풀잎을 띄운 물줄기가 마침내 바다에 이르렀습니다.
참새 모녀도 바다에 이르렀습니다.
The mother sparrow said.
"To reach the sea, the stream from the mountain
top should part from the pond at the base of
the mountain or the river. It is the same
for you. Parting is a sad thing, but it doesn't
mean stop. Parting is also a kind of stimulus
for growth. You can fly again"
어미 참새가 말했습니다.
“산봉우리에서 시작된 물줄기가 바다에
이르기 위해서는 산 밑 웅덩이와도
헤어지고 강과도 헤어져야 하지 않을까?
너도 마찬가지란다.
이별은 슬픈 것일망정 멈춤은 아니란다.
성장 촉진제이기도 하지.
다시 기운차게 날아 보려무나." |
